Barbra to duet with her son Jason Gould

While promoting her new collection of unreleased songs "Release Me" with Katie Couric, Barbra Streisand mentions another forthcoming project, an album of duets. Asked which artists she would like to perform with, the singer mentions that she enjoys Usher, John Legend, and Keith Urban. But she saves the bigger surprise for the host, saying, "Actually, my very, very exciting duet partner is my son."

Streisand then shares a story about accidentally hearing her son humming and reveals that the press-shy Gould has been recording music.

"And I tell you, when I heard the things he's recorded, the musicianship, the sound of his voice, it's like he has a little chamber music orchestra right in his vocal cords," she says. "I said, 'Jason, I have to sing with you. You have to be on my duets album.' Not only that, 'You have to come' — he's never performed live."

Couric asks if this means he'll be performing during her October 11 concert in Brooklyn, to which Streisand nods her head yes.

The duet during her October 11 concert will mark the second known professional collaboration between mother and son. Gould costarred in Streisand's 1991 box office smash The Prince of Tides.
